Robot Peregrine Falcons and Eagles to Take Flight in Edmonton

Birds around an airport are a safety hazard because if a bird hits a plane’s windshield, propeller or fuselage, or is sucked into a jet engine, the results can be catastrophic for both bird and aircraft.

Various methods are used to try to keep the area on and above airports free of birds but now a company is using a robot birds of prey to fly above airfields to scare away the real birds.
