The Internet of Every Thing

I read an interesting factoid: during 2013 the number of connected devices on the internet — vending machines, electricity meters, refrigerators, smartphones and, yes, the lowly computer — will exceed the number of people on Earth by a factor of 2. By 2015, Cisco reckons that the number of connected things will reach 25 billion, including farms that attach internet-enabled biosensors to livestock.
