Zen and The Coffee Bean: Omotesando Koffee

img_05

Omotesando Koffee is the name of a small, elegant cafe in the Omotesando area of Tokyo. A small black metal sign on a small side street is the only announcement of the cafe’s location. The shop itself is a small kiosk outlined in an elegant black metal open cube with a fire-red espresso machine on one side; if the frenetic and noisy crush of a Tim Horton’s or Starbuck shop is at one end of the spectrum, then surely this zen-temple of coffee is at the other — it is the kind of cafe Steve Jobs would have created if he had liked coffee.
