The New (Ab)normal

In the 50’s the average soda was 7 ounces, hamburger 3.9 ounces, and french fries 2.4 ounces. Today, the average soda is a whopping (that is the technical term) 42 ounces, hamburger 12 ounces and french fries 6.7 ounces. That is a 6 x, 3.1 x and 2.8 x increase respectively.
Gee, I wonder if this might have contributed to the rise in rates of obesity?
