PE Evolution

Part 1 of this 4-part video series looks at the evolution of PE (Process Excellence) from the mid-1800s in the U.S. up through the First World War and then to the Second World War.

Part 2 focuses on the development of the Toyota Production System, the basis of what later became known as “Lean.”

In Part 3 we look at the response of the U.S. to the rise of Japanese competitors in the 1980s including an insightful analysis by Steve Jobs.

In the concluding video, we look at the emergence of the Re-engineering school of thought and where things stand today.
